Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the prize draw.
 

Terms & Conditions:

1. This is an offer of a manuscript appraisal by a published author/reviewer to assess the quality of a manuscript written in English for possible publication with comments for improvement. The manuscript should be supplied in a Microsoft Word document in English, with no pictures or graphics which is fully editable and consist of no more than 75,000 words. If your manuscript consists of more than 75,000 words, please email info@mereo.uk and explain why your manuscript should be entered. To enter, please fill in your details in the sign-up form. Paid for assessments of non-fiction are available.

2. The winners will be selected at random from the entries received in accordance with these terms and conditions by Mereo Books, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

3. There is no purchase required to enter.

4. The offer opens at 10:00 pm BST on Friday 20th September 2024 and closes at 10:00 pm BST on Sunday 20th October 2024. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the prize draw.

5. The winner may see their name posted on the Mereo Books website and Mereo Books Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Threads/Tik Tok accounts. Winners will be contacted via email by 30th November 2024.

6. The prize draw is open to legal residents of the United Kingdom, The United States of America or Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The European Union and South Africa only. The prize draw is void where prohibited by any relevant local law and entrants from any such country will not be eligible to win the offer. You must also be aged 18 or over to participate.

7. Entries will not be accepted by agents, third parties in bulk or by anyone who has not fulfilled the specific requirements of entry i.e., following Mereo Twitter page and following other social media where available.

8. The Company is not responsible for contacting or forwarding communications to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed, or destroyed or forwarding to alternative addresses. The company is not responsible for any problems, costs or damages caused by third party delivery, fulfilment or printing companies who are engaged to print, deliver, or fulfil the offer including damage caused by transit or packaging.

9. The Company reserves the right to alter the offer or cancel the offer without notice but will try to avoid creating any undue disappointment due to circumstances outside of their control. No cash alternatives to the offer will be provided. If a winner is unable to accept their offer or cannot be contacted, the Company reserves the right to select another winner.

10. The Company will make available the name and country of the winner to anyone who requests this information by writing to the Company at the address shown below.

11. The Company is the data controller of Personal Data that it collects in the course of running the offer and will use the Personal Data in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Notice - http://www.mereobooks.com/privacy-policy  It will use such Personal Data for the purposes of running the prize draw and delivering any prize(s) and will delete it after a reasonable period from the end of the prize draw. “Personal Data” means names of entrants and other details provided by them, email addresses, telephone numbers for the prize draw. The Company will not share such Personal Data with any third parties except for the purpose of delivering the prize(s). The information will be deleted within six months of the announcement of the winner.

Where entrants have opted-in to receive communications from the Company, the email addresses of entrants will be used by the Company in accordance with its Privacy Notice http://www.mereobooks.com/privacy-policy to send news about books, products, promotions, and events and to invite entrants to participate in surveys or competitions. Entrants will be given the option of opting out in those emails if they don’t want to receive any further communications.

13. By entering the prize draw entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

14. This competition is being organised by Mereo Books of Suite 2, 2nd Floor, 6-8 Dyer Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 2PF (“The Company”).

15. These terms and conditions and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of these terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.​

 

​16. Proof will be required that all the terms of entry have been fulfilled by winners.
