Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the prize offer.

Terms & Conditions:

1. If you commission us (Mereo Books) by April 1st 2025 to edit, design and produce your book, we will create a professional cover design relevant to the subject/genre of your book and title at no charge. The copyright of the design will be retained by Mereo Books, in keeping with standard intellectual copyright law. The manuscript should be at least 40,000 words in any genre, fiction or non-fiction except academic. You will also be asked to supply a 200-300-word synopsis which will form the basis of the briefing document for the cover designer.

2. We will provide 1 (one) cover design relevant to the subject/genre of your book and title. The copyright of the cover design will be retained by Mereo Books.

​

3. If you decide to publish your book through Mereo Books this will mean your book will be published at reduced cost. Savings to be assessed based on the size, complexity, number of words, number of pages, number of pictures, degree of editing and other factors which determine the cost of publishing your book.

4. If you decide to publish your book through a different publisher and use our cover design, then we reserve the right to make a charge to pass over the copyright to you.

5. The offer will be restricted to the 1st 3 (three) authors to sign a contract with Mereo Books to edit, produce and publish their book. These terms and conditions are determined by Mereo Books, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. There is no purchase required to enter.

7. The offer opens at 10:00 pm BST on Friday 28th February 2025 and closes at 10:00 pm BST on Tuesday 1st April 2025. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the prize draw.

8. The authors may see their name posted on the Mereo Books website and Mereo Books Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Threads/TikTok accounts. Authors will be contacted via email by 30th April 2025.

6. The prize draw is open to legal residents of the United Kingdom, The United States of America or Canada only. The offer is void where prohibited by any relevant local law and entrants from any such country will not be eligible to win the offer. You must also be aged 18 or over to participate.

7. Entries will not be accepted by agents, third parties in bulk or by anyone who has not fulfilled the specific requirements of entry i.e., following Mereo Twitter page and following other social media where available.

​

8. The Company is not responsible for contacting or forwarding communications to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed, or destroyed or forwarding to alternative addresses. The company is not responsible for any problems, costs or damages caused by third party delivery, fulfilment or printing companies who are engaged to print, deliver, or fulfil the offer including damage caused by transit or packaging.

9. The Company reserves the right to alter the offer or cancel the offer without notice but will try to avoid creating any undue disappointment due to circumstances outside of their control. No cash alternatives to the offer will be provided. If a winner is unable to accept their offer or cannot be contacted, the Company reserves the right to select another winner.

10. The Company will make available the name and country of the winner to anyone who requests this information by writing to the Company at the address shown below.

11. The Company is the data controller of Personal Data that it collects in the course of running the offer and will use the Personal Data in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Notice - http://www.mereobooks.com/privacy-policy  It will use such Personal Data for the purposes of running the prize draw and delivering any prize(s) and will delete it after a reasonable period from the end of the prize draw. “Personal Data” means names of entrants and other details provided by them, email addresses, telephone numbers for the prize draw. The Company will not share such Personal Data with any third parties except for the purpose of delivering the prize(s). The information will be deleted within six months of the announcement of the winner.

Where entrants have opted-in to receive communications from the Company, the email addresses of entrants will be used by the Company in accordance with its Privacy Notice http://www.mereobooks.com/privacy-policy to send news about books, products, promotions, and events and to invite entrants to participate in surveys or competitions. Entrants will be given the option of opting out in those emails if they don’t want to receive any further communications.

13. By entering the offer entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

14. This competition is being organised by Mereo Books of Suite 2, 2nd Floor, 6-8 Dyer Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire GL7 2PF (“The Company”).

15. These terms and conditions and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of these terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.​

 

​16. Proof will be required that all the terms of entry have been fulfilled by winners.
